Message from the Director

On behalf of St. John’s Health Services, I welcome you to our website. It gives you an insight about the aims and work of St. John’s Health Services in Trivandrum, Kerala, Southern India. I hope that you will find this site informative and helpful to get to know our Leprosy Elimination Programme and Tuberculosis Control Programme as well as our services and activities in the field of care and prevention of HIV/AIDS, diabetic problems, community care as well as women and family development.

St. John’s Health Services was established in 1963 to provide medical care to the deprived and the most vulnerable sections of the community in a spirit of tenderness and compassion. It seeks to be a witness to the healing ministry of Jesus Christ through its services.

I like to express my gratitude to the late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorious and the late Bishop Lawrence Mar Ephrem for the innovative steps they have taken to establish this institution in 1963. Further I express my sincere gratitude to all supporters and sponsors for being with us to provide every possible cure and care to the poor and marginalized people. It is a blessing to me that I have committed team members, supporters and helping hands giving us the possibility to help the needy people and to fight against diseases and stigmas.
